I turn my linen piles over once in a while the way some people turn over the garden compost. After things get put away for awhile and then get unearthed again I know just where they are needed. I was actually looking for a pretty "bed" for my teacups to lay in while I took their picture, and decided on this bit of lace.
A single bloom can make a nice statement.
But a whole garden full is lovely too! I really don't have that many teacups. And I didn't pull them all out this time either, but a picture I saw on FB of a basket of china cups made me want to do my own. . . .

If only you could just grow more teacups and saucers!

ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, Jacqueline: "Come into my garden, my flowers would like to meet you." Or in your case, Teacups! It's hard to choose which one is prettier... I love the creamy ones with the smallish flowers scattered over the bowl; but the the pretty white ones with flowers running along the handle are beautiful, too. And then those big roses! Or the sweet "eyelet" ones. You could have a Wonderland Tea Party for your grandchildren and let them change seats and get a different cup each time they'd like more!

Sigh, I loved strolling through your teacup garden.... The white teacup with the roses inside and on the handle tugged at my hear strings. I was reminded of my Mom's good china set, that sadly was donated before I thought to ask about it (I live may provinces away). So nice to see your beautiful photographs. Thanks, Patty/BC
