Easter Table

It's not unheard of to have a spring snowstorm around Easter here in Albuquerque. There has been more than one egg hunt called off on account of snow! The forecast indicates a little moisture coming in soon, and we'll also have a dip in temperatures by the weekend. Anything can happen.

But even if we get a little dusting, or even a wet dump of the white stuff, it goes away within a day. Even sooner. It just comes and goes like a celebrity cameo in honor of the occasion. I love the impromptu visit.

This was last year's show looking like fallen cherry blossoms beneath the trees.

But beauty sometimes comes at a price. Some years we get no fruit at all.

Either way, it's a last hurrah. Winter is packing up her trunks and moving on for a few seasons. Bon voyage, and good journey. . . . We're even having a good send off for you!

Inside or out.
Wishing you a lovely Easter.

Tea Things

My new teacup has me in the mood for more tea things!

I get these shortbread apricot tarts at the local French bakery, Le Chantilly. Yum!

Love a spring tea with my spring blossom tea set!

Another favorite.

Perfect tea for any bunny!

Time to dust off the wicker and get ready for the wind to stop blowing and the snow to melt! (Not here of course.)

Ready. . . Set. . .

Tea!

Wishing you a cheery Tuesday!

White Tulips

I hate to play favorites, but I'm afraid I like white tulips best. I like the way they play well with fresh white linen.

Lovely weekend to you!

Linen Bouquet

Now that my dining room walls and trim are white, I have a lot more freedom to use color in a way that doesn't overwhelm the small space. A swatch of print fabric is perfect for the purpose. A tablecloth perhaps.
Chair cushions. Or in this case, a vintage curtain panel slung over the shutters. A pretty homespun cloth decorates the back of my vintage high chair.

I find that I tire easily of strong color in a room, and need to change it up easily when I'm ready. And white lets you take any color path you want for a colorful change of scene.

I love this big rose print, but its burgundy red and deep green is not used anywhere else in the house. Perfect for the lawn or patio when the weather warms up, it will cheer us up here for a bit in the meantime.

I love the contrast against the crisp white towel with the wide lace border.

A hazy day offers a little back lighting for a frilly vignette. Flowers of course, but also a bit of a ruffled and pin-tucked hem. The metal cloche gives another suggestion of life in the garden.

A little worked bodice of handkerchief linen hanging in the window is as pretty as any flower bouquet!

It all feels like a fresh breath of spring!
I wish the garden would bloom as easily. . . .

So glad you stopped by!
